Pair of reef herons feeding in the pools on the reef close to Sky Williams surf break. Spotted when coming in after a surf. Definitely reef herons: got a good view through binoculars and yellow break and grey body (including face) were clearly visible.

Reef heron observed feeding on small fish along the bank of the Tapuae Stream. Flew between both banks of the stream. Can see the yellow eye and yellow beak in photos. Did have some patches of paler plumage, but definitely a reef heron.

3 Reef Herons flew across our bow and landed on the island marked. We checked them out on the island for a while. Came back a week later and they were still there.

Pair of reef herons observed on a rock outcrop at the Waiwhakaiho River mouth. Herons were mainly preening. Only short time spent feeding by one. Spotted while testing out a new camera purchased only 10 mins prior to taking photos :).
