Summary[edit] Description: This is such a common sedge of dry mountain meadows from western Montana southwest through the Jarbidge area. The tight head spikes, pistillate flowers above the staminate in each spikelet, perigynia 3-4 mm long and close to 1.5 mm wide and with a distinct narrow margin, the beak just over 1 mm long and fully exserted passed the subtending bract, and the brownish bracts with narrow hyaline margin combine to distinguish this sedge. Summary[edit] Description: A common bunched sedge in open understory from montane to subalpine elevations. Multiple spikes congested into short wide heads, individual spikes with pistillate flowers above the staminate, the relatively narrow, flat, and green to brown perigynia with a narrow serrulate margins, each subtended by a brown scale, combine to distinguish this sedge.
