The populations assigned to Gudeodiscus phlyarius inhabit several regions of northern Vietnam (Lạng Sơn, Cao Bằng, Ninh Bình, and along the border region with the Chinese Yunnan Province) and the Chinese Guangxi. A single shell of typical Plectopylis fallax Gude, 1909 was collected in southern Yunnan, very close to the Vietnamese border (Honghe Hanizu Yizu Zizhizhou, Hekou Yaozu Zizhixian, Laofanzhai Xiang, Sierqi N 1.5 km towards Laofanzhai, 155 m, 22°44.637'N, 103°53.782'E, leg. Hunyadi, A., 19.03.2011., HA/1).
