Rostratula benghalensis (Greater Painted Snipe) is a species of birds in the family painted snipes. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are found in Afrotropics, the indo-malayan realm, australasia, and the palearctic. They are crepuscular omnivores. They have parental care (only male provides care).
