Summary[edit] Description: Indian Courser chick a week or two old. Tiny less than my son's palm and beautiful. These birds are resident the whole year round and can be seen easily. But spotting a chick has been tough for many. I was lucky to see this scurrying away into the brown grass. The lockdown had bought it out into the open. And guess what! The kites were circling in good numbers. There were half a dozen kites around watching the chicks of Pratincoles, Courser, Terns, Lapwings, Plovers and other birds that are roosting here. And the adults take turns chasing them away. Thanks in advance for your views / comments. Please stay safe and healthy,. Date: 7 May 2020, 09:28. Source: An Indian Courser Chick - A rare spot for me. Summary[edit] Description: I changed the route to my home to save 30 mins of travel time and drove through a dried up part of the lake. Came across a few of these Indian Coursers on the path used by farmers. Full of curiosity, they came close to the car which is a bit of a rarity in this part. Many Thanks in advance for your views / comments. All kinds of feedback is welcome!. Date: 12 February 2020, 11:16. Source: An Indian Courser - Full of Curiosity. Author: Hari K Patibanda.

Summary[edit] Description: I was chasing a raptor that I couldn't identify and noticed this bird (Female) on the ground. I was quite close to the bird maybe around 6-8 feet, but still it didn't budge. The partner (male I guess) flew far away and was making quite a bit of noise. I stepped back quite a bit, took a few shots and left it alone. Surprised that it lay eggs on the ground making it prone to all kinds of predators in the area - snakes, monitor lizards, other birds, monkeys even. Date: 6 February 2020, 09:09.
