Almost exactly a month after lucking into my life Coppery Emerald (http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/2363785), I happened across another today! This male represents a new county record for this elusive species. It stayed much too high to net, but I was fortunate to get some identifiable photos when it rested. I was so excited!

Coppery Emerald Somatochlora georgiana male hand-held photo just south of Kingston, Rockingham Co., New Hampshire 1 August 2009 See: http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/208966 for a female netted two days earlier at the same location. I took this photo at a DSA (Dragonfly Society of the Americas) regional meeting and many NH folks, VT folks and others were present. In fact, I did not net this bug; it was caught by others and I simply took some shots for my own files. This was a location where the species was thought to be present by NH observers. also posted to OC at: http://odonatacentral.bfl.utexas.edu/index.php/SubmissionAction.get/submission_id/458954
