"Confirmed to species with the keys and illustrations in Miller (2013), ""Review of the Genus Cybister...in North America"". Coleop. Bull. 67(4):401-410*. This is the only expected species within its range in south Florida outside of the Keys. Note in particular, the shape of the outer edge of the hind femor on the underside in the 2nd pic. Predacious diving beetles in small pond near cave. Water ph 8.0 Captured, photographed, and released. specimen is approx 3 cm long, dark green with pale border observed numerous individuals coming to the surface for what I assume is oxygen intake via the tail end.
