Note that the dried animal seen on the photo was digested to recover the radula and DNA (degraded because of preservation in formaline), therefore, the specimen is now empty. The catalog number written on the shell was accidentally removed, as explained on page 12 of the original description.

Several live specimens of Pustularia cicercula takahashii collected in Hawaii by David Lum on a single dive in 2006. Note that the typical pustulose P. cicercula is rare in Hawaii, while the smooth form is more common, hence its description as a subspecies of P. cicercula
