Found under a board within a property which is currently being graded out for a wind turbine farm development. The individual desert night lizard was relocated away from the construction activity.

Xantusia v. vigilis. Caught this little guy running across some open gravel, which seemed mad. The zebra-tailed lizards have big longs legs for getting above the hot surfaces and running fast, but night lizards definitely do not.

A fortuitous find. While pulling off an old Mylar balloon that was tangled on some fallen Joshua Tree limbs, this little chap was underneath. After removing the debris, I replaced the limb as snugly as possible.

A Desert Night Lizard that was found within the dried, hanging leaves of a Yucca tree, in the late afternoon to early evening hours, as the desert began to cool for the evening.
