Summary[
edit] Description: Probably Pouched Coral Fern, Gleichenia dicarpa. Strahan Tasmania Australia, January 2012. Margins are curled under to form pouches, which when fertile, hold tiny sporangia. Gleichenia dicarpa is, however, supposed to have two sporangia in one corner of the pouch of each segment, whereas if you look closely you can see generally three. Also, the underside of Gleichenia dicarpa is normally white, rarely green. Alternatively Gleichenia microphylla has 2-4 sporangia and an underside of pale green, but with flat leaf segments.
