Calandrinia grandifloraRock Cress. The species is now known as Cisanthe Grandiflora, but I'm leaving it under its synonym of Calandrinia grandiflora. The species is native to north-central and central Chile. The red maids of California, Calandrinia menzieii, are a close relative. Rock cress is widespread in urban San Francisco Bay Area and requires virtually no tending once it establishes itself. Photographed in a private garden in Berkeley, CA.
Claytonia perfoliata Donn ex Willd. (syn. Montia perfoliata). There is still debate as to whether this should be included in Montia or Claytonia. I am following Arnow, FNA and Reveal in treating it as Claytonia but Welsh makes reasonable arguments to the contrary. FNA further would appear to treat this as subsp. perfoliata.
