Summary[edit] Description: Xylobolus subpileatus (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) Location: Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park, Maryland Heights, Missouri, USA. Observation Notes: An old but gregarious fruiting Xylobolus subpileatus fungi, on the bottom side of a very large, well decayed fallen log which was suspended above ground level. Specimens of this fungi are on this log found with the fertile side facing outward – looking first a bit like a crust-type fungi. But the reverse side showing narrow zones of color. This appears to be a dry and weathered group. : For more information about this, see the observation page at Mushroom Observer.
