Clostera inclusa (Poplar Tentmaker [larva], Angle-lined Prominent [adult]). Trail at Salt Marsh Nature Center, Marine Park, Brooklyn, NY. These caterpillars were found in web enclosed within folded leaves of cottonwood sapling, several individuals in one leaf web. Fecal pellets also within web case. Many leaves with signs of feeding, leaving skeletonized leaves with veins exposed - caterpillars perhaps feed at night and spend day within web/folded leaves. Yellow striped black with black head, black spot on yellow dorsal stripe a short distance behind head and another black spot almost at hind end.
