Incredibly fragile and beautiful little shell decorated with concentric rings. Almost flat. An under smoothe boulder inhabitant. Grazes algae off stones in semi estuarine coastal situations. Although not uncommon alive, finding an intact shell is nearly a miracle. Weeks of calm weather and lots of patience and care needed. Wasnt game to remove the sand grains adhering to it.

Small limpet with a delicate shell as is suggested by the specific epithet. Can be found quite easily by turning over small cobbles at lowtide. Distinct from the other Atalacmea species [A. multilinea from Forsterian waters] in having a greenish background to the brown rings and a few less of these concentric rings] Shells rarely survive for beachcombing, even in life it is rare to see a perfect specimen. This example has evidence of a repair in the front section and definite current peripheral damage.
