Avicennia germinans (Black Mangrove) is a species of shrub in the family Acanthaceae. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Atlantic And Gulf Coastal Plain (Agcp), Middle America, The Contiguous United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, Florida, Eastern North America, and Puerto Rico. They have white flowers. Individuals can grow to 50 feet.
