Arctostaphylos manzanita ssp. elegans—Konocti manzanita. The species has a CNPS Rare Plant Rank: 1B.3 (rare, threatened, or endangered in CA and elsewhere). A. manzanita ssp. elegans is found at higher elevations, usually in rocky volcanic soils, in the interior, southern North Coast Range. There are around 69 extant populations. Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA.
