Summary[edit] Description: These giant frogs can grow up to eight inches in diameter and live for 40 years. They eat almost anything – insects, small mammals and even other frogs! They are able to live without food or water for months by digging underground. When the rains arrive, they emerge to eat and mate. The male guards the tadpoles, which swim around him for protection. But they’re not always safe. Sometimes he eats the weaker tadpoles, just as the froglets will eat their smaller siblings. Date: 22 March 2008, 08:09.
