Baccharis halimifolia (Eastern Baccharis) is a species of tree in the family Asteraceae. They are listed as threatened by COSEWIC. They are native to Georgia, Alabama, North-Central U.S.A., Jamaica, South Carolina, Texas, Mississippi, Texas, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, District of Columbia, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina, New York, Rhode I., Eastern North America, Nova Scotia, Pennsylvania, Northern America, Connecticut, Mexico Northeast, The Contiguous United States, North America, Florida, The Neotropics, Arkansas, Louisiana, Florida, Delaware, Maryland, Caribbean, and New Jersey. They have white flowers and achenes. Individuals can grow to 10 feet.
