A faj egyike azon kevés fajnak, melyek elfogyasztják a parlagfüvet (laboratóriumi körülmények között), mindezt úgy, hogy a fajnak mezőgazdasági kártétele egyáltalán nem ismert.English: The palearctic ground-weevil Coniocleonus nigrosuturatus feeding on the leaf of common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia).
