We found these beautiful fungi at Nikko botanical garden. They were popping up on the ground below huge trees of many kinds. Aleuria aurantia was the name given by John Denk and later approved by a fungi Japanese book.

This edible mushroom is a large one, to 20 cm across. It is quite common in Mas'ade forest of the northern Golan Heights, growing below oak trees 2-3 weeks after the first strong rains.
