Inhabits lagoon and seaward reefs at depths of 0.5 to 30 m (Ref. 1602). Juveniles are encountered in exposed outer reef flats while adults in coral rich areas (Ref. 1602). Feeds on a wide variety of small invertebrates as well as fish eggs.
