Found on the uppermost continental slopes. Feeds on small fishes, crustaceans, and cephalopods (Ref. 5213). Oviparous, with 1 (Ref. 5510) or 2 egg-cases laid per oviduct at a time (Ref. 5510). The adult males are larger than females, a characteristic unusual among sharks. Manifests partial sexual segregation. Not utilized at present.
