Cetorhinus maximus (Basking Shark) is a species of modern sharks in the family basking sharks. They are listed as vulnerable by IUCN and as endangered by COSEWIC. They are carnivores. Individuals are known to live for 32 years and can grow to 1520 cm. Reproduction is ovoviviparous and iteroparous.
