Going only on the shape of the fin... but there was at least one and maybe more cruising back and forth just beyond the breakers at the Moeraki Boulders.

One solo dolphin between Ripapa Island and Diamond Harbour.

At least five seen at one time, including a mother with a juvenile. One had been found dead on a beach the day before I was told. Killed in an amateur set net.

At least two out in the water. Sorry for the close ups but they were a fair way out but the dorsal fin was rounded and the facial marking look like it could be Hector's.
