Also distributed in SE Arabia, Maldive area, Ceylon, Bay of Bengal, East indies, north Australia, Philippines, China, south Japan and South Pacific Islands (Clark & Rowe (1971)); Australia (Rowe & gates, 1995). Ecology: benthic, inshore, continental shelf, suspension feeder. General distribution: tropical, Indo-west Pacific Ocean, depth range 0-91 (?183) m. (Rowe & Gates, 1995).

Oligometra with segments of P2 mostly longer than, or at least as long as, broad, with distal ends of prismatic ridges of pinnulars more or less strongly produced, or with one or more spines.

From Hong Kong, Macclesfield Bank (South China Sea), Philippine Islands, S through Indonesia to New Guinea and W through Burma, eastern India from Orissa to Madras, Sri Lanka, Pedro Shoal (N of Lakshadweep, India), Maldive Islands, and Bagamoyo, Tanzania;; Depth range : Shoreline to 91 (?183) m (chiefly <50 m)

On arborescent cnidarians (e.g., octocoral fans, whips; flabellate, anastomosing Millepora); reef crest rubble and under massive coral heads; lagoonal patch and outer barrier reefs, at Madang, Papua New Guinea.; Depth range : 2 to at least 30 m
