Description
provided by World Register of Marine Species
This subspecies was described mainly based on differences in the morphology of caudal spine P4. Renaud-Mornant (1984b) showed an entire sequence of modifications in the shape of this spine in specimens of H. remanei from different regions of the world and suggested that this group is in the process of speciation (see also remarks for Halechiniscus r. remanei).
