Tiny, to 2 cm. Bell straight-sided, flat-topped, with 16 vertical ridges and eight minute tentacles. Colour orange-brown, typically patterned with dots and dashes. Swims incessantly and rotates. Swarms near surface. Habitat: surface waters. Distribution: all warms seas (Richmond, 1997).
