Merica melanostoma (G. B. Sowerby II 1849)

Up to 4 cm. Description as for family though shells are more globular, with rounded shoulders, deep sutures and a pointed apex. Surface covcered with fine nodules. Colour whitish-orange and cream. Habitat: deep water. Distribution: W Indian Ocean to G Oman. (Richmond, 1997).
