White-collared Swift Padre Island, Kleberg Co., Texas 8 March 1983 This is posted just as a historical record since this was the first Texas specimen (there was an older Florida specimen) of White-collared Swift. This bird was found floating in the surf on Padre Island, Kleberg Co., Texas on 8 March 1983 by Ed and Jean Schulenberg, friends of mine. They called me and I went to their location where they had frozen the specimen. The photos here were taken 10 March 1983.
