Iotrochota baculifera is 'n sponsspesie in die taksonomiese indeling van die Demospongiae (gewone sponse). Die liggaam van die spons bestaan uit kieselnaalde en sponginevesels en is in staat om baie water op te neem.
Die spons behoort tot die genus Iotrochota en tot die familie Iotrochotidae. Die wetenskaplike naam van die spesie is die eerste keer geldig gepubliseer in 1884 deur Ridley.

Encrusting sponge, irregularly lobate, 5-10 cm long, 5 cm thick. Surface raised into faintly conulose irregular lumps. Oscules 1-2 mm wide and irregularly spaced. Body tough, brittle and incompressible, emitting copious stringy, magenta-coloured mucus. Colour deep purplish-black. Habitat: inshore fringing reefs. Distribution: Indo-Pacific (Richmond, 1997).
