Leptochiton rugatus (Carpenter ex Pilsbry 1892)

This little California chiton (about 10 mm) is fairly common on the bottom of rocks partially buried in sand. In addition to its distinctive off-white color, the foot is an unusual pinkish- red color. All in all, it can't be confused with any other local chiton

There were about 10 of these under one rock, mid-intertidal
