Left valve only; recently deceased. Starnes and Bogan (1988) record Cyprogenia stegaria as having once occurred in the Duck River although it is absent from most historic records, particularly A. E. Ortmann's comprehensive survey in 1924. Its occurrence in 2016 results from restocking efforts by TWRA. C. stegaria is federally endangered.
