Mallomonas annulata.Monadic species of Synurophyceae. Cell is covered by siliceous scales. Second flagellum is not visible. The scale bar indicates 10 m. From the algae culture of the University Duisburg-Essen (Germany), strain WA 18K-M. Synura sphagnicola can be preferentially found in sphagnum ponds. Typical are the reddish oil droplets they bear in plasma.Sample from sphagnum pond Dosenmoor near Neumuenster (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany).
