One of our native orchids endemic to North American and commonly called Dragon's Mouth. This is the best flower form of this species that I have ever seen. It was magnificant! I photographed it in the UP of Michigan during the 2009 Native Orchid Conference. It as growing in Carney Fen which was dedicated while we were visiting. One of our members, Kip Knudson, was instrumental in getting the fen designated as a state Natural Area.
