The Olive House Snake (Black House Snake) Lamprophis inornatus is endemic to Southern Africa and is active at night. It is harmless and often found near human dwellings, rubble and debris. Adults average 45-75 cm and may reach 1.3 m. The Olive House Snake is very similar to the Brown House Snake (Lamprophis capensis), but it prefers moister habits.
