Found at Cannon Hill Park, where I've seen individuals of this species before. This was the only Hippodamia tredecimpunctata that I found today; there were lots of Hippodamia convergens and Harmonia axyridis. It was crawling fast, so I got it to walk on my thumb for a while. Then it went back on to the tall grass growing by the side of the pond.

Both this individual and another seen down at MacLaren Pond today were spotted by Anthony Brooks' Git'pu eyes ;) These are only the third and fourth individuals I have seen in almost twenty years of ladybugging.
Chronologically, this was the first of two individuals seen of this species today. Compare elytral and pronotal markings with this individual seen at the Visitor's Centre about 40 mins later: http://www.inaturalist.ca/observations/3713721 Although we have been sweep netting weekly at this location since 2013 in July and August with 10-50 volunteers, this is only my second record of the species at this location, a wet meadow adjacent to MacLaren Pond.
