Cuming's Lovegrass

Culm erect. Blade linear, glabrous, about 5 cm long by 3 mm wide; ligule about 0.3 mm long, fimbriate; sheath-mouth and blade base covered with long silky hairs. Inflorescence an open panicle, about 16 cm long. Spikelets up to 11-flowered, about 5.5 mm long; glumes chartaceous, deltoid, inconspicuously nerved; the lower 2/3 as long as the upper, the upper about 1.5 mm long, easily falling off when mature; lemma chartaceous, deciduous, slightly longer than the upper glume, broadly ovate, acute, 3-nerved, lateral nerves nearly parallel; palea chartaceous, oblanceolate, strongly 2-keeled, scabrous along the keels, persistent.
