I'm usually pretty shy about identifying Phycitine Pyralid moths to species but this seems like a good match to Crocidomera imitata, based on the following characters: 1. Extensive whitish ground color, 2. Distinctive dark dotted PM line and bold dots on terminal line; 3. Extensive dusky mottling near rear margins of FWs, creating a wide dusky patch on the folded wings. Compare with MPG and BG: http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/species.php?hodges=5706 http://bugguide.net/node/view/247452 The species has previously been recorded in CenTex.

On a moth sheet with a Mercury Vapor light I spent a lot of time on the Moth Photographers Group looking for this one and never did find it. All ID help or suggestions are appreciated. Dolan Falls Preserve is owned by The Nature Conservancy and is not open to the public. Access is through special permission only. The preserve is adjacent to Devil's River State Natural Area, which is open to the public on a restricted schedule.
