Two porcupines passed out in a big old willow, happily sleeping the day away.
-
Bark from Balsam Fir stripped all the way around. Found on multiple trees in the area. All the tops of the trees are dead where the bark has been stripped. If you look carefully you will notice the bite marks in the wood. I can only assume this was a porcupine based on the area and from a reliable source.

Classic porcupine poop. Oblong, a mild curve, nothing but wood fibers, and spread everywhere along with bits of the hemlock (Tsuga canadensis) it was feeding in at some point (couldn't find him/her).
