At lunch, I explored this neat new trail by Sellmark. Saw some pretty cool things. :)

I've gone back and forth on this bird grasshopper from northern Florida. My initial reaction was that it might be S. alutacea of the s.e. US, but if I'm seeing the details of the male genitalia correctly (see enlarged 2nd image), this may only be S. obscura, a species that looks a bit different here in Texas.

At lunch today, I explored this little area around Skyvue Memorial Gardens. Was hoping to see a bit more, but this area was pretty heavily mowed.

At lunch, I also stopped by this little trail to look around. Saw only a few things today here -- it was quite windy.
