Abundant along the edge of the reserve and nearby stream. Puketoki is a wonderful example of a small area of remnant bush linking to other areas, which creates a safe passage for native wildlife. The 85 acres of land was donated to the local community in 1926 by Mr HH Sharplin. The reserve is cared for by a local group doing pest control and weeding. The bush is looking very healthy with crystal clear streams, and the bird life is increasing. http://www.wildaboutnz.co.nz/projects/puketoki/ https://www.naturespace.org.nz/groups/friends-puketoki
