Siren larva that turned up in my net while seining a flooded area for aquatic amphibians. I was told this particular area is usually dry throughout the summer.

I saw this Great Blue Heron catch this siren right next to the road as I rolled by. When I stopped to get a photo it flew off in the distance I I could only get this cropped series of photos. It was a massive Siren! It was the biggest S. intermedia I've ever seen. It was like a small S. lacertina. It doesn't show in the photos well, but I checked to make sure it wasn't an Amphiuma or Anguilla.

Caught two Western Lesser Siren in a funnel trap baited with dead fish.
