Type - specimen.— Cat.No. 39313, U.S.N.M. ARCTURUS CRASSISPINIS, newspecies. This species is likewiseclose to Arcturus longis-pinus Benedict, but differsin having spines presenton all the segments of thethorax and abdomen, onlythey are all of the samelength and short, none beingrudimentary. The termi-nal segment of the abdomenis also longer than in A.longispinus. This speciesis very large, measuring 44mm. in length and 8J mm.in width. The spines on the bodyare short and stout. Thesurface of the body is cov-ered with short hairs. Thefirst pair of antennae do notextend much beyond thesecond article of the secondpair of antennae. The sec-ond antennae have the sec-ond article 4 mm. long; thethird 13 mm.; the fourth20 mm.; and the fifth, 17mm. in length.
