El barrigón (Pseudobombax septenatum) es un árbol de la subfamilia Bombacoideae, estrechamente emparentado con las ceibas (Bombax spp.). Es nativo del Neotrópico, distribuyéndose desde Nicaragua hasta Venezuela y Colombia. En Panamá es una especie muy común tanto en bosques húmedos y secos.
