Summary[edit] Description: The two hind legs are lacking. This is the result of a normal defensive mechanism to escape predators (like lizards tail). Grasshoppers with only one hind leg left are frequent particularly at the end of the summer/autumn. But individuals with both legs lacking are more rare. This is quite anoying for it because it cannot sing anymore.. Date: 19 September 2010, 18:46. Source: Stethophyma grossum male Uploaded by Jacopo Werther.
