The mourning cuttle has a longer body than the giant and red cuttles that you also find in Sydney. The blue lining in the eye and smooth eye sockets are the other indicators of this species.
You can clearly see the shape of the Groper and its blue tail sticking out. Giant Cuttlefish are amazing to watch but it would be extremely rare to see one about to devour such a large fish as the Groper.
