Came early to help out with a cooking class this evening at the Central Market in Southlake... This was a wild game cooking class where I spoke about the role of hunting in conservation. It was fun! Beforehand, I visited a park and the side of a road. :)

Right before going to my nephew's soccer game, I went to this really great park -- lots of limestone outcroppings! :)

This thing was on the trail by the second pond at Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park. This thing I think is a Mermiria because I have seen this before and had it identified as one through another program besides iNaturalist. This thing was tan, black, and yellow. It's hind legs stuck out far to the side. The grasshopper was long and narrow. It was a very interesting specimen. It had a short pair of antenna. It was a very interesting grasshopper.
