A shrub-like plant reaching approximately 6 feet in height and 3 feet in width with varying branching points from the main stalk. Leaves are pinnately compound with winged stems between the leaflets. Fruits are red clusters of drupes.

Found outside Altamonte, TN on the Cumberland Plateau. Found on the edge of an open field. Roughly 10-12 ft tall. Family: Anacardiaceae.

The trees are 20-25 ft. tall, the trunks are short, also the branches are spreading. The leaves are deciduous also compound. the twigs are slim and thick, reddish brown.
