Two dead feral goat kids, both on the side of a man-made track through the regenerating bush, perhaps 20 meters apart. Didn't spot any obvious injuries, perhaps poisoned (ongoing possum poisoning in the area), or maybe ate some plant poisonous to them as young goats will do (though I'm not sure what native plants are that deadly). There used to be a goat farm nearby.

Sorry for the photo quality, observation was done under better light conditions. The animal was quite large and heavy built, with strong legs and a rather short tail, reasons for me to exclude L. wiedii. Photo courtesy of Patrick Lariault.

Such an odd species - no dorsal fin, long and thin body with tiny flukes only a foot across. But boy can they speed! First time seeing them today, what a treat. I posted a video to Facebook of them porpoising: https://www.facebook.com/robin.agarwal.14

As reported to David Remsen from Capt. Dan Sullivan. The Gemma came across a Grampus while collecting squid in Menemsha Bight. First observed 50m from stern jumping clear of the water twice. Approached the Gemma, which was idling while clearing the net. Approached the Gemma and fed on discarded by-catch (fish). Stayed very near the boat for 10-15 minutes before the Gemma departed. Videos on flickr with images. https://www.flickr.com/photos/dremsen/

Please have a look through these pictures: maybe they're all of Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus), but we also saw Short-finned Pilot Whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus) and Risso's Dolphins (Grampus griseus) during the tour, and some shots might show one of the 2 species.

As I returned to the parking lot, a bobcat walked out of the woods and sat down near a dumpster. It seemed about as afraid of people as a slightly shy house cat, keeping a safe distance but not appearing the least bit nervous. So I took a lot of pictures.
