I was a volunteer photographer at Galveston Island State Park on the 19th. There were five different activities to show off the park and educate people on the beach and bay aspects of the state park. This Blue Crab was captured while seining the bay side of the park.
I was standing in the Alcoa Birding Tower looking down marsh. This was the first time I've been able to observe blue crabs in their natural habitat, totally unaware of my presence.

Blue crabs seen during Masonville Cover BioBlitz. Some pulled up with oyster shell baskets looking for macros. Others seen around pier pilings, rocks along shoreline.
